Teen Basic Package $495

The basic driving course package includes 30 hours of online classes, 6 hours behind-the-wheel training and One-hour student observation with online scheduling access.

Teen Combo Package $595

The Combo package includes 30 hours online classes, 6 hours behind-the-wheel (BTW) training, One-hour student observation, access to online scheduling, DOL Knowledge Exam (two attempts) and DOL License Exam (one attempt) with School Vehicle.

Key Questions 

What do a teen student need to enroll?
  • Your teen student must be at least 15 years of age on the start date of the course registered for. The student must have parental or legal guardian consent if under 18 years of age.
  • Select the course date and enroll your teen into our teen driver program.
What do a teen student needs to do to pre-apply for an instruction permit?
  • If you do not have permit you need to pre-apply. To apply for your instruction permit, sign into www.dol.wa.gov and complete the pre-apply process and check your email for getting a confirmation number. The confirmation number will be your permit number.
  • Call or email your confirmation number to Vision Driving School (VDS). Once we have received your confirmation number, we will send a waiver data to DOL to enable you to go and collect your Instruction Permit at your convenience form any DOL office.
  • What is the requirement for successful completion of the teen course?
    • Attend 30 hours of classroom instruction (15 two hour sessions)
    • Complete 6 one-hour behind-the-wheel (BTW) training in our instruction vehicle.
    • Complete 1-6 one-hour observation sessions (at least one hour is required).
    • Receive a passing score on the school's final written test.
    • Receive a passing score on the school's final drive test.
    What is required for a teen getting his/her license after completing the Course?

    Your teen if under 18 need to pass DOL's written and skill tests and must be at least 16 years old, have held his/her permit for at least six months and have completed 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with parent/guardian (10 of those hours being at dark) and have certificate of completion from state certified driver's education course. Both knowledge and skill tests are offered at Vision Driving School for your convenience. Those who registered for one of our courses are offered to take the DOL written test for FREE during the last classroom session.     Is it a requirement for the teen student to have his/her Instruction Permit prior to the course start date?

    No, our new students are not required to get their instruction permit before the course begins. Teen students registered with our school must at least have their instruction permit by Class Session 3.

    What is required for VDS's behind-the wheel sessions?

    All students of VDS are required to carry their Instruction Permit with them in order to take part in any of the behind-the-wheel training sessions. Failure to present their permit will be treated as no-show and attract a fee of $21.50.

    What if a teen student reschedules his/her driving session?

    If you have to change the time of your scheduled driving lesson, it must be at least two days in advance of the appointment to avoid a cancelation or no-show fee of $ 21.50 per occurrence.

    What is VDS's policy on Cancellation and Refund?

    If you have to cancel your scheduled course, you are required to notify our office during official business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday) in person, by phone or email with in a cancelation period of 48 hours prior to the start of the first classroom session. If cancellation occurs within the 48 hours period we will refund the enrollment fee you paid, minus $39.95 service and administration charge. Cancelations after the start of the course are not honored and not eligible for a refund.

    Are parents required to be involved during the course?

    Parent/Guardian involvement with their teen's driver training is expected and absolutely important. Parents are expected to attend our Parents Night where we will share information on the course requirements and tips that would help parents coach their teen students on behind-the-wheel practice period. DOL requires that your teen must receive a minimum of 50 hours of (10 of those must be night driving) driving practice once they have their permit.

    Who can observe teen students during the 50 hours practice period?

    The 50 hours practice period must be observed and supervised by a parent/guardian or someone who has held his/her license for at least 5 years.

    What is the schools policy on student behavior?

    Our students are expected to behave in a respectful and responsible manner, and at no time disrupt any of our class sessions. VDS reserve the right to expel any student from a course at any time after having discussed the matter with the parent/guardian. A refund will not be considered, if expulsion of a teen student occurs after the first six hours class sessions.

    What would happen when teen students miss class or scheduled drive sessions?

    It is advisable not to miss any class or scheduled drive sessions and if the teen happen to miss any class he/she will have to make up the class missed. If you do miss a class, you must schedule a make-up class with the school's office within one week of the missed class. DOL allows up to 3 make up class during the course period. A student will be allowed to take DOL's written test if he/she has not made up missed class prior to class 15.

    What is the Schools' policy on inclement weather?

    If the Lynnwood School District closes for inclement weather (or for any other reason), then we will cancel our classes. We will post closure information on our website www.seattlevisiondriving.com, phone and social media outlet. We will send an email to let you know that classes and/or drives have been cancelled due to inclement weather.

    How long are daily classroom and drive sessions?

    VDS students will not be allowed to take more than two hours class room sessions per day except in the case of make-up classes. A maximum of one make-up class is permitted on the day of our course classroom session. No more than one hour behind-the-wheel training can takes place in any single day.


Customized Private Instruction

Our experienced instructors will assess your driving skills and provide driving lessons that fit your needs and busy schedules. The adult driving packages are customized to suit the needs of new adult drivers and designed to offer private driving instructions and coaching for:

  • Adult new drivers looking for new skills and additional driving practice.
  • Adult drivers who are new to Washington State and need to learn the rules of the road.
  • Adult drivers who come from a Right Hand Driving (RHD) background and who needs a re-orientation training to handle Left Hand Driving (LHD) Vehicle and traffic.
  • Any driver looking to improve his/her driving skills, or build more confidence while on behind-the-wheel.
  • Any adult new driver who seek help for preparing for DOL Road Test.

Adult Driving Packages

Our adult driving program is designed to offer safe driving skills and help new drivers develop good decision-making and risk management habits while ensuring they are ready for taking driving skill test.

We provide instructors who have driving skills both on Left and Right Hand Drive traffic systems with tested and proven experience in training clients who are coming from different backgrounds and origin.

Refresher/Reorientation Package (3 Hour) $255.00 ENROLL
The three hours package is designed to offer BTW skill building trainings for a learner driver who needs to take a number of BTW lessons before attempting to apply for receive their road test. The course is designed to be offered in two intensive driving lesson segments to brush-up on specific skills and offer trainings in preparation for Washington State driver license skill test. This not recommended for beginners.
Confidence Building Package (6 Hour) $475.00

This driving package is for learners who have had modest driving experience and needs additional lessons either for taking their skill test or simply build their confidence level while on behind-the-wheel and applying the rules of the road.This course will allow the adult student to sharpen their acquired skills and have developed safe driving habits, safe control of the vehicle, making predictions and decision making skills. The course is designed to be offered in four 1.5 hours intensive driving lesson segments to help boost confidence level while on the wheel.
Intermediate Driver Package (9 Hour) $675.00 ENROLL
This driving package is for learners who have had limited or no prior driving experience on public roadways.This course will allow the new adult student to have developed safe driving habits, safe control of the vehicle and responsibly share the roadway with other users including pedestrians, cyclists, etc. The course is designed to be offered in six 1.5 hours intensive driving lesson segments.
Comprehensive Driver Package (12 Hour) $895.00 ENROLL
This driving package is designed for learners who have had no prior exposure to driving a vehicle and traffic on roadways. The course will allow the students to have knowledge on confirming vehicle readiness, vehicle controls, signs and sharing the roadway with other users. The course is designed to be offered in eight 1.5 hours intensive driving lesson segments to help students learn the rules of the road and develop safe driving habits and assess their readiness for taking skill test. This is highly recommended for beginners.
Enrollment requirements for adult  

Adult applicants to our school must have any of the followings before they register with us:

  • A valid Washington State instruction permit.
  • A valid International Driving License.
  • A valid Foreign Driving License.

If you do not have any of those, then you need to apply for a permit.

To apply for your instruction permit sign into www.dol.wa.gov and complete the pre-apply process, and check your email for getting a confirmation number. The confirmation number will be your permit number.

If you do not have a Washington State ID, use the following steps to pre-apply and get your permit:

1. Sign into www.dol.wa.gov

2. Click on License Express - Join Now

3. Click on Pre-apply to get your permit (Confirmation Number)

4. Fill out the Registration Form

5. Once the registration form is properly filled out and submitted it will issue you a Confirmation Number which will start with your 5 digits of your last name.

Knowledge and Road Test

Vision Driving School is a state approved testing institution for conducting written exam and road test. Applicants who have already obtained their permit must have their valid permit to take any of the exams with our school. If you do not have a DOL number then you need to pre-apply.

To pre-apply, please visit www.dol.wa.gov and click on License Express and then follow the steps listed to get a confirmation number. Once you have registered in DOL's License Express and have a confirmation number, you will then be allowed to book your exams with us.

Applicants who have a temporary authorization to drive as prescribed by Department of Licensing (DOL), or a valid foreign diver license or a valid out of state instruction permit will be allowed to book their exams with us.
